Elephant Country Lakadong Turmeric is sourced from the Farms of Trinity Saioo, better known as Turmeric Trinity. She is a School Teacher and Farmer from Jayantia Hills in Meghalaya, in the Eastern Himalayas, who has pioneered and spearhead the women-led turmeric farming movement and popularised the indigenous ‘Lakadong’ variety of high curcumin turmeric.
Trinity Saioo was honoured with Padma Shri in 2020 by the Government of India and Balipara Foundation Award in 2020 by Balipara Foundation.
