Who doesn’t like waking up to the aroma of mouthwatering sambar wafting through the house? Sambar with idli or dosa and filter coffee is the breakfast of choice in South Indian households. But according to legend, sambar originated in the kitchens of Shahuji, a Maratha ruler in Thanjavur, and is named after Sambhaji for whom it was prepared.

How to Use:
1. Cook 100gm of Toor dal along with a vegetable of your choice and a tomato in a cooker.
2. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a cooking pot. Add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add a pinch of Hing and curry leaves. Add boiled Toor dal along with vegetables and cook it for some time.
3. Add tamarind water, Graminway Spicy Sambhar Masala, and salt to taste.
4. After boiling, reduce the flame and add freshly chopped coriander leaves.
5. Serve with steamed rice.
